The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in LA on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
