Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
