Recent Details Surface About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains

Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic deaths of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report referencing a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

The source also pushed back against circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes reports of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
