Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
