Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard season average

Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - Patriots Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the top team?

One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos

The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a declaration

Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was huge

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to success

The defense is solid and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a long way to travel but the door is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest

Both could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick deflected and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
